I delve into the physical and tactile creation of your home’s most private and intimate spaces, gently intertwining tiling, materials, fabrics, utilities and more. I am especially passionate about natural stone finishes and the subtle use of complimentary colours and tones. Software and digital interior ideation have encroached so much on the art of materials selection, and this obstacle perhaps applies the most in the bathroom areas, where the design choices are verging on the infinite. My focus is on bringing together traditional methods of materialisation, crafting spaces that are genuine and never synthetic. An ultra-premium outcome is always born out of a literally compilation of finishes, and the active overlaying of samples to yield a truly special spatial outcome.

Furniture and original art are the hallmarks of family spaces. In recent years, there has been a wonderful diversification of access to premium furniture design aesthetics within a sensible pricing envelope. Over the years, I have amassed an immense portfolio of sourcing options – both within Australia and overseas – allowing me to steer an incredibly unique spatial experience within a sensible budget envelope. The key to this is in the careful synthesis of surfaces, colours and finishes that are individually unique, but deeply complementary when combined. I am passionate about the active collaboration between designers, architects, and builders to produce a collectively aligned aesthetic. There is a very nuanced role for a designer to fulfil within the design workflow and it is to extend the parameters of the architect’s design language, and to make these parameters genuinely unique to the individual homeowner. All architects project a design approach that holds a level of familiarity to their practice – it is the role of the designer to overlay and expand upon this with a selection of physical pieces and materials that evoke the individuality of the owner. This is what makes the space uniquely yours.

To genuinely emphasise the creativity of the world’s finest built spaces requires an eye that extends beyond the structure itself. The surrounding environment, the interior aesthetics, the invasion of natural light, the subtly interwoven characters of the design teams - these individual stories are the authenticity I love to explore.

Cars are the architectures that you can conveniently take to the photographic site of your choice. The artistry within the respective photographic compositions is resoundingly similar, but rarely are the two considered in such a way. In my mind, automotive photography is the conscious fusion of bespoke architectural and landscape skills.
